If Christ College was a person, it would be the best person anybody could ever be,” says Prarthana. Talking about her alma mater, she further adds, “It has one of the best campuses in the City. It’s so green, it’s awesome.”

The campus has some interesting spots like the birds’ park and the pebble’s park which are unique to Christ University and not seen on any other colleges in the City. These spaces are apparently very popular among students of the college. “The Bird’s Park, the Pebble’s Park are popular hangouts around campus. We take our laptops there and work on our assignments,” said Prarthana. Anoop Alexander added to this list and said: “The food court, the cafeteria, the basketball court and the Ivy Hall are popular places on campus where students chill.”

Other than the campus, the students of Christ University are very proud of their fests. “No other fest is as multi-dimensional as our fest, In Bloom. The ‘in’ crowds of the City come to our fest,” said Prarthana. Liz Susan added to the conversation about fests and said “We have various cultural and sports fests like Darpan, Prayas and Aromas. Each department has its own fest. It gives us opportunities to display our talents and potentials.” These fests are important to students from a very practical stand point as well, it seems. “Those who win at Darpan go on to represent the college at the cultural fests of other colleges. It’s a month-long cultural fest and is great fun,” said Anoop.

The college also stresses on the development of social responsibilities, apparently. “We have a club in college called Centre for Social Action or CSA. Each class collects money to sponsor the education of three to four poor students. We visit slums and try to educate them. We visit villages and live there for two days and experience the life there. It makes us more aware,” said Anoop, who believes that it helps in their development. “The college is about holistic development. We know how to manage any situation. It’s our attitude that makes us special,” he said.

Susan picks up from Anoop: “When there is something that’s important to us, we all stand together.” When asked what was the one thing that sets Christites apart from students of other colleges, she said, “It’s how we dress. People look at us and know we are from Christ. When it comes to dressing, we set the trends. Even though we have to wear salwars, we wear matching accessories. Even if we wear 100 rupees chappals, we wear it well.”

Prarthana said: “Christites are cool people. Kids are rich, not everybody but mostly. We are the hip crowd.”
