He made this announcement after inaugurating Kempegowda Museum at Mayo Hall in the City, on Thursday.

The greatest gift of Kempwgowda has been the creation of Bangalore city. Hence all efforts will be directed towards preserving the City, the chief minister said.

"The City whose foundation was laid nearly 550 years ago has been bestowed with international recognition and has grown into an important commercial and intellectual hub,” said Yeddyurappa.

Also, speaking on the occasion Home Minister R Ashoka said Bangalore never faced drought due to the numerous tanks built during the Naada Prabhu’s reign.

 Kempegowda was a visionary who encouraged business communities from across the country to come and set up their businesses in the City. The growth and prosperity as reflected by Chikpet, Chamarajpet, Balepet and other old commercial areas can be attributed to Kempegowda, said D Javare Gowda.
