Zilla Panchayat member Kukkudige Ravindra alleged that anganwadi centres and hostels provide attendance to those children who remain absent. There is a need to look into the matter by making a surprise visit to the centres. He also urged for bio metric attendance system.
He said Rs 67 lakh which is pending with the Child Welfare department should be utilised for providing furniture and LPG to anganwadi centres. ZP member Suchetha Narendra said it is not right to supply dry food to the anaganwadi kids. “Along with the food, milk should be supplied to the kids.”
Taluk Medical Officer Srinivasmurthy said about Rs 20 lakh has been utilised after 108 ambulance service was started in the taluk.
The meet also discussed on 16 per cent recovery being done by the Karimane Srirama Seva Krishi mathu Grameena Abhivridhi Bank. The bank had lent loan of Rs 14 crore. The meet decided to urge the farmers to repay the loan borrowed from the bank.
One hour delay
Though the KDP meeting was convened at 11 am, the meeting started one hour late as the President Prema and Vice-President Jayanth arrived late.
