Foundation laid for hanging bridge near Kanive

Speaking on the occasion, he said the bridge will provide connectivity to the villages. Kanive Ramalingeshwara Kshethra will also attract the tourists. The work on the bridge will be completed by June end.

He said that the Board will provide a sum of Rs 30 lakh to the district to undertake various development works. The Board will also provide funds for the construction of hanging bridge at Theppadakandi near Guddehosur.

MLA M P Appachu Ranjan said the long pending demands of the people of Kanive will be realised with the completion of hanging bridge. If the bridge is completed before monsoon, then it will benefit the people of the region. A hanging bridge near Shirangala will also be constructed by the Malnad Development Board.

The government has already sanctioned a sum of  Rs 64.70 crore for the development of Koodige-Shirangala road. The tender has been invited for the road. Funds will be provided for laying parks in all the gram panchayats on the model of Somwarpet taluk. The gram panchayats should provide suitable sites for the parks.

Zilla Panchayat President Shantheyanda Ravi Kushalappa also spoke. Hanging bridge expert Girish Bharadwaj, ZP members S N Rajarao, Indiramma and others were present.

The Kanive Ramalingeshwara Kshethra committee members felicitated Malnad Development Board President Padmanabha Bhat, MLA M P Appachu Ranjan and engineer Girish Bharadwaj.
