Hari shines for TN; Sunil grabs silver

The 24-year-old Hari Babu, a bronze medallist at the 2008 Nationals, had skipped last year's edition but he made up for that with a fine display. The Chennai muscleman said he was optimistic of a good performance here. "I was lconfident about a gold medal-winning effort here," Babu said.

Sunil Satpal of Maharashtra grabbed the silver medal while P Sudhakar of Andhra Pradesh had to be content with the bronze.

 In the men's 60 kg category, SK Mustaque of West Bengal won the yellow metal with Punjab's Jai Singh taking home the silver medal and Anoop Raj of Kerala taking the bronze. The event saw a close tussle between Mustaque and Jai Singh with Mustaque holding the nerve in the one minute individual posing round to become the owner of the gold.

In the men's 65 kg category, Hiralal of Punjab who is also the current Junior Asia champion, emerged champion with T Vignesh of Tamil Nadu settling for the silver and Srinivas Kari of Maharashtra claiming the bronze. Hiralal was a cut above right from the beginning.

In the women's Miss India Fitness championship, in the below 163 cm category, Diprina Bhattacharjee of West Bengal won the gold with Suchitra Devi of Manipur taking the silver and Madhumita Devi of West Bengal grabbing the bronze.

The above 163 cm category saw Mouma Karmakar of West Bengal winning the gold with a stellar effort on the stage. Rajwinder Kumari of Punjab claimed the silver and Kamalika Mukherji of West Bengal settled for the bronze.
