Interacting with evaluators, who boycotted evaluation for the third consecutive day on Sunday and staged demonstrations at Lingaraj College ground, he said he supported their fight but asked them to return to work keeping the interests of students in mind.
“I will discuss the issue with Yeddyurappa and Kageri. Wear black clothes as a symbol of protest, but return to evaluation,” he asked the protesters.
The lecturers, however, refused to relent, saying: “We have worn black clothes before and continued to work. But all we’ve got are assurances and no solutions.”
Members and office-bearers of various organisations representing PU teaching and non-teaching staff addressed the evaluators.
