'Harsh law than life term must to check corruption'

However, the country is facing the problem of corruption. A law to punish the corrupt which is harsher than life imprisonment should be implemented in the country to check corruption.

Speaking at the yoga camp and Jana jagruthi meeting organised by the Bharath Swabhiman organisation and Pathanjali Yoga Committee here at Gandhi Maidan on Friday, he said “it is not enough to constitute Lokayukta to check corruption. There is a need to give severe punishment to those who are into corruption. Lokpal Bill should provide an opportunity to recover money from the corrupt officials.”

“As corruption is on rise in the country, the government should withdraw the currency with the face value of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000. Measures should be taken to get back the black money which has been deposited in the Swiss banks by our politicians,” he added.
“With the a view to free the country from disease and corruption, Bharath Swabhiman movement was started. About one lakh kilometre will be reached through the movement. Bharath Swabhiman movement is not to get any political mileage,” he clarified.

By reaching Kushalnagar, he has travelled 70,000 km through the movement. The yatra will conclude on June 1 after travelling to Goa, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.
To ckeck corruption, a protest will be staged with the help of one lakh people in New Delhi. A signature campaign with 10 crore signatures will be taken out across the country, Baba Ram Dev said.

Speaking on Kodagu, he said it is a sacred land where river Cauvery takes birth and the land which has given birth to Field Marshal K M Carippa and General Thimmaiah.
“There is violence in our food and thought. Hence, people suffer from blood pressure and diabetes, which can be solved through yoga. Through yoga, one can be free from diseases,” he added.

Stating that there is a need to put an end to poverty, Naxalism and corruption, he said: “We should bring in change in our food system. As we can not create a living creature, we do not have right to kill them as well.” About 10 crore people from 200 countries of the works are learning yoga through Astha channel. Yoga samithi should be constituted in 6.38 lakh villages. Spiritual centres should be set up in every village, so that all can learn yoga, he added.
