Jewels worth Rs 20 lakh recovered

Jagdeesh alias Jagga (36) from Varadarajanagar, Subramani (35) from Sapthagiri Layout and Sheikh Akbar of Neelsandra were arrested.

‘Maid’ held for theft

The police have arrested Shanti (38) in connection with eight cases of theft. The accused, who used many aliases like Mary, Jaya and Jayamary, would work as a domestic help and disappear from her employer’s house within two days of being employed. The police nabbed Shanti in Tamil Nadu and recovered jewellery worth Rs 12 lakh. The cases have been registered from 2007 till date.

Of the theft cases, two were reported from HSR Layout, one from Sun City Apartments, one from Crystal Apartments, two from Jayanagar and one each from BTM Layout and Whitefield.

Temple thieves nabbed

Two men in their 50s were caught by on charges of looting  valuables from  six temples in and around Byappanahalli and Nandagudi. Jewellery worth Rs 65,000 was recovered  from  Narayanswamy (55) and Ramchandrappa (55). 

3 held for shoplifting

The police have arrested Eshwar (30), Nityananda (49) of Belandur and Kumar (28) of Tumkur and recovered a car and 180 grams of gold worth Rs 7.5 lakh from them.

The complainant, Rajanna had registered a case of theft with the City police on June 13, 2009. The police nabbed three people  in this connection.
