The deceased was identified as Girijamma, police said. Anitha, the 27 year-old unmarried daughter of Girijamma, was having an illicit affair with her neighbour, Nandakumar (33), a married man employed with a private firm, police said.
Girijamma had objected to the relationship and when Nandakumar came to meet Anitha last night, there was an altercation following which the two allegedly smothered the woman using a pillow,source said. The two have been arrested.
