The suspect is Sunil Ram from Bihar. According to police, Konthadevi and Deepak Bahaddur, a couple from Nepal, and Sunil Ram were among a team of 30 workers employed to construct a building at Dollars Layout in JP Nagar fifth phase.
They all stayed in a makeshift shed near the construction site. Ram went into Deepak’s shed when his daughter was playing alone. Her parents were away at work.
He allegedly lured her by offering her sweets, took her to another shed and allegedly raped her.
He then gave her some more sweets and left her at her parent’s shed and disappeared, police said. When her parents returned, the weeping child narrated the incident to them.
The couple lodged a complaint with the police, who arrested Sunil Ram and remanded him in judicial custody.
