JD(S) to protest against government on April 29

He alleged that no action had been taken to check widespread irregularities in implementation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

“Corrupt officers are having a field day. Instead of checking irregularities there have been attempts to encourage them,” Gowda said, adding that State JD(S) president H D Kumaraswamy will take part in the protest.

Poor infrastructure has become the hallmark of district headquarter City of Kolar. Roads are of poor quality and development projects carried out by spending crores of rupees of public money do not conform to the set standards, he alleged.

Demand for facilities
Gowda said the rally would demand to address acute water scarcity, ensuring regular power supply, support price for tomato and speedy implementation of the Yaragol project.
