Chains snatched

  A woman was robbed of her two gold chains in HSR Layout on Tuesday night. Pradeep Yelgeri and his wife were returning home after shopping, when the suspects followed the couple, snatched the victim’s two chains near a sweet shop in HSR Layout Sector 6 and fled in an auto, police said.

 11 held for gambling

Police raided National Residency lodge at Khoday Circle on Sheshadri Road and arrested Ravi, Rajesh, M K Raj, Babu, Sathyanarayan, Chandra, Ramalingam, K Hanumanthaiah, S Venugopal, Bettaswamy and Somashekhar on charges of gambling.
Cash to the tune of Rs 1.18 lakh and 10 cellphones were seized from them.

Usurers arrested

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police arrested two private financiers for allegedly cheating people and confiscated more than 50 documents including blank cheques, blank stamp papers, agreement letters and sale deeds from them.
A V Chandra (58) and Ravikumar (40) of Gayatrinagar used to extend loans to small time businessmen, industrialists and others at an exorbitant rate and obtain signed blank cheques and other documents as security. They were transacting business worth Rs 50

 Man held for killing wife
Police have arrested a man on the charge of strangling his wife in Chickpet on Tuesday night.

According to police, Narasimha Murthy strangled Lakshmi (30) with her saree, after a quarrel over a petty issue. The couple hailed from Hindupur town in Anantpur district of Andhra Pradesh.
