The result of Wednesday’s match is Dempo’s worst ever in all competitions.
Depleted due to the absence of Brazilian midfielder Beto (injured), Iranian defender Siavash Samienia (suspended) and goalkeeper Laxmikant Kattimani through injury, Dempo conceded as early as in the 12th minute, when Ivan Boskovic found the net.
Boskovic went on to score three more times, Artur Gevorkyan struck twice, while Andrejs Pereplotkins, Ilkhom Shomuradov and Shuhrat Mirholdirshaev struck a goal apiece at the Karshi Central stadium to seal their place in the knockout stage.
