Addressing a press conference here, she said Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman Murli Manohar Joshi had not staged a walk out, but had formally adjourned the meeting before leaving the venue. On the Congress allegations that Joshi had released the 2G scam report to the media before it was tabled for discussion in the PAC meeting, Sushma clarified that the draft of the 2G scam report was submitted to the Committee on April 26 and the meeting was held on April 28.

“Two days’ time was given to go through the report. Yet the Congress created chaos in the PAC meeting. Such behaviour is dangerous to democracy,” she said and challenged the Congress to order a high-level inquiry to find out whether the report was leaked to the media, before it was tabled in the PAC meeting.

They are free to move privilege motion in the Parliament too, she added. Sushma said the UPA first took on the PAC and later tried to hush up the report on 2G scam. The Comptroller and Auditor General’s (CAG) report too had met a similar fate. Union Minister Kapil Sibal had ridiculed the report by saying that there was only zero loss to government in the 2G spectrum allocation.
