Man stabbed

 A 45-year-old private company employee was waylaid and attacked by unidentified men near his house at Govindarajanagar in Vijayanagar on Wednesday evening.

According to police, Jairam was walking near his house at 7 pm, when a few armed men came from behind, stabbed him in the abdomen and fled the spot. Passersby, who noticed Jairam screaming, rushed to his aid and noticed that blood was oozing out of his abdomen.
 They shifted him to a nearby private hospital and alerted the police. 

The police suspect that old rivalry led to the incident and that known people committed the crime. They will take the statement from the victim once he is stable, police said. A case of attempt to murder has been registered in the Vijayanagar police station.
