C'magalur slips to 7th place in PU results

Out of 8,760 fresh candidates who appeared for the exam, 5,887 students passed. Last year the district had obtained the pass percentage of 71.15 and had stood in sixth place. The rural students have outperformed the urban students.

Of the 2,418 rural students who had appeared for the exam, 1,658 (68.57) students have passed the exam, while among 6,342 urban students, 4,229 (66.68) students have cleared the exam.

Among 753 students who had taken the exam privately, 193 have passed and of 1,409 repeaters 348 students have passed.

A R Saraswathi PU College, Koppa, has topped the district with 96.323 pass percentage. BGS PU College, Sringeri, and Sai Angels PU College, Chikmagalur, have bagged second the third place with pass percentage of 94.44 and 94.28 respectively.

While analysing the taluk-wise pass percentage figure, Koppa taluk has raced behind other taluks, while Narasimharajapura taluk has remained in the last.

Vidyasagar from Sai Angels PU College has topped Science section in Chikmagalur taluk with 566 marks.

The toppers in Government Junior College, Belur include, Sujay (Science-561), Lokesh (Arts-547), Anitha (Commerce-511). Poornachandra Hebbar from the same college have secured 100 in Physics and Chemistry, while another student Rakesh has received full marks in Physics.
