Sonia's tea diplomacy; invites Jaya for discussion

According to the Congress sources, party chief called up the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) head on Saturday evening and invited her for tea.
Describing the Congress president’s call as courtesy call, party spokesperson Jayanti Natarajan said: “Our party president congratulated Jayalalitha, it is a courtesy that is extended in a democracy to a leader who has led her party to victory.”

Jayalalitha, while speaking to reporters in Chennai also confirmed about the call from the Congress president.“I received a call from Sonia Gandhi, she congratulated me on the victory,” Jayalalitha told reporters after meeting Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala to stake claim to form the government.

The AIADMK-led front won 203 of the 234-member assembly seats, while the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam-Congress alliance was reduced to 31 seats.
