Jumbos chase residents

The elephants also chased the farmers who were working in field. On seeing the wild tuskers from a close angle, they took to their heels. While one elephant scared the villagers from behind a tree, another charged at them. The villagers noticed the two jumbos near the fields and informed the Forest Department officials and the Police.

At around noon, a couple of forest guards came to the spot only to get a mouthful from the villagers. On Saturday, the jumbos had damaged the crops at Boppanahalli and efforts by villagers to chase them back in to forests had failed. Finally, the Forest officials drove them back.
