CEC Chairman P V Jayakrishnan, along with members Mahendra Vyas and M K Muthoo will arrive in Bangalore on Monday morning and proceed to Hospet. The visit will last till May 26.
As per the Supreme Court order, five teams comprising officials from the Forest, Mines and Geology, and Revenue Departments will survey the 99 leases to determine any illegal mining.
The Supreme Court has empowered the four-member team, comprising officials from Lokayukta, CEC, Forest and Mines and Geology Departments, to suspend mining operations immediately, if they found any violations.
Two more visits
The CEC members are also scheduled to visit Hospet again twice next month to monitor the joint survey.
CEC Chairman P V Jayakrishnan and CEC member secretary M K Jiwrajka will visit Hospet between June 9 and June 13, and another visit will be between June 21 and
June 23.
