Rituparno Ghosh's movie selected for Durban Film Festival

The movie, which depicts the journey of a woman into the life of her poet-husband (Prosenjit Chatterjee) after his death, will be screened in the panorama section of the festival, which runs from July 22 to August 2.

The other films to be screened in the panorama section include movies by directors like Woody Allen, the Dardenne Brothers, Lars von Trier, Laurent Cantet, Steven Soderbergh, Takeshi Kitano and Michael Winterbottom.

Ghosh will attend the screening of the movie on July 30.

'Shob Charitro Kalponik' (Afterword) is the story of Radhika's (Bipasha Basu) journey into the life of her late poet-husband (Prosenjit Chatterjee), Indraneel and the revelations and contradictions she learns about him as a poet and husband.

Produced by Big Picutres, the movie will release in India on August 28.

A prominent name among the contemporary filmmakers in India, Ghosh has directed award-winning films like Bhariwali (Lady of the House), 'Titli (The First Monsoon Day), and 'Choker Bali (Passion Play), 'Antarmahal' and 'Unishe April'.

Ghosh was honoured with the national award for his film 'Shubho Mahurat'. He is also the recipient of the prestigious Premio Arco D'Oro award by Italian government for his outstanding work in the field of cinema.
