<p>Addressing newspersons later, Dr Gurushankar said that he was yet to go through issues pertaining to alleged irregularities which had supposed to have taken place in the institution.<br /><br /> After verifying the facts only, he would be able take necessary action, he clarified.<br />Dr Gurushankar was serving as professor at the Bangalore Medical College before his new posting at MIMS.<br /><br />It may be mentioned here that all these years the institution was managed by only in-charge directors.<br /><br />To a query on the need for a ‘surgery’ to MIMS in the wake of alleged irregularities in the appointment of a few teaching faculty, the director said he would look into the matter after taking the government’s permission. <br /><br />All steps would be taken to give a new look to the Institution which includes sprucing up the premises, complete all the pending works and upgrade the lab facilities.<br /><br />He said the staff who violate the rules would be punished. Medical Superintendent Dr Ramalingegwoda was also present at the ceremony.</p>
