JOIN USSpeaking at the ground-breaking ceremony here on Monday Legislator Y Sampangi said preference will be given to the maintenance and development of roads in rural areas. He added that more such developmental works will be taken up in the villages in and around the town.
He also called upon the officials to ensure that the gram panchayat and the zilla panchayat members’ grants should be utilised for the development of backward villages.
Special grants
He said proposal for special grants has been submitted for construction of tanks, development of lakes and catchment areas.
The public grievances meeting will be held in each village to address the problems faced by the residents, the legislator said. Sampangi promised to take necessary steps to address the villagers’ problems immediately during such meetings.
Urban Development Authority Chairman M Munirantam Naidu, Junior Engineer Hanumappa and BJP rural unit President Amaranarayana Reddy were present on the occasion.
