JOIN USSpeaking to media persons here on Tuesday, LIC Udupi Branch Marketing Manager B D Almeida informed the plan offers comprehensive hospitalisation benefits for the entire family of the principal insured. Udupi branch has a target of as many as 10,000 policies for opening, he added.
The new plan provides for continuing health cover of major family members up to age 80 and for children up to 25 years.
A person who has been insured can avail the benefits for 8 times a year under major surgical benefits. Under advance payment of major surgical category, the person insured can avail 50% as advance procurement. This provision is available only for network hospitals, he added.
The policy can be taken for initial daily benefit of Rs 1,000, Rs 2,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 4,000.
The major surgical benefits will be 100 times of daily benefits.
Day care procedure benefit will be five times of the daily benefits. In case no claim is made under the policy for a period of three years, the benefits payable under the policy would be further enhanced by 5% without any upper limit. The premium depends on age, gender, the health cover option one has chosen and mode of payment, he informed.
