Sources said delay by the Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) in completing the fitting of testing devices on Metro coaches is the prime reason for the oscillation trials being postponed.
The instrumentation of the coaches for the oscillation, the sources said, was a ‘complicated’ process which required time. It is learnt that the RSDO officials are presently busy installing the sensor devices on the axle of the trains to transmit even the slightest of the jerks which may be faced by the Metro, while on the run.
The recording devices will make a database for Bangalore Metro based on certain aspects such as position, curvature, alignment and smoothness of the track structure.
