With an overwhelming dose of music, applause and fervour, the winners were presented with awards for their various innovative media projects.

Bangalore, emerging as the advertising hub of South India, has numerous small, medium and large scale advertising and PR firms, that are striving to carve a niche for themselves. With advertisers and public relation officers becoming the most sought-after professionals today, it can be said that the field is going through a boom.

The Advertising Club, Bangalore, constituted these awards twenty years ago and are still in the job of recognising innovations and creativity. This time around, a total of 960 entries were received from 138 such companies in 78 categories. The jury consisted of 24 senior professionals in creative account management, digital media and health care.

Stark Communications won the award for the Ad Agency of the Year, while Maxus took home that for the Media Agency of the Year.

Tanishq from the Titan Industries won the Ayaz Peerbhoy Multimedia Campaign of the Year as well as the Client of the Year Award.

Mindshare got the Adclub Media Campaign of the Year.

Jaison Antony from Stark Communications was titled the Art Director of the Year, while Nikhil Narayanan from Mudra Communications and Seetha Jayakumar from Stark Communications tied on the title of Copywriter of the Year. The Young Achiever Award was given to Vishal K Vinekar of JWT. “I would like to congratulate the winners of ‘Big Bang 2011’. The competition was keenly contested and I’m very happy with the results. All of the winners were extremely deserving,” said Prateek Srivastava, President, The Advertising Club, Bangalore.

The exuberant winners were ecstatic amidst all the merriment.  “We’re so glad we won the awards and the title for the third time in a row,” said Sanchayeeta Verma from Maxus, the star group of the evening that walked away with a whopping 43 trophies. “Creativity is the heart of our profession and we focus on building lasting relationships with our clients. We put quality effort into each and every endeavour and recognition just follows,” she added.

When asked about the future projects of the firm, she laughed, “It’s partying for now!” Later, she added, “We would continue what we’ve been doing with the awards-induced motivation!”
