Last Updated 04 May 2018, 02:06 IST

"We beg you to conserve your energy so that you can give us strength and guidance to fight peacefully and protest truthfully for an end to corruption," said a statement issued by Indian-Americans from 15 cities in the US.

The communique was faxed to Ramdev's office in India, said Vijay Pallod, overseas media co-coordinator of Bharat Swabhiman. Noting that Ramdev has inspired millions of children, men, women, the communique said they will need to be called again – in even greater numbers, till they have a final victory in banishing corruption from public life.

"Swami Ji, please accept the advice of your followers and doctors and end your fast. In future we will fast and make the same sacrifice you are making for us. Indian-Americans from every state and city have joined you," the statement said.

Ramdev's whose condition deteriorated on the seventh day of his fast against corruption was admitted to a hospital near Dehra Dun.
