State elicits interest from investors

Last Updated 30 July 2009, 16:37 IST

In fact, the State’s effort to mop-up large investments within the policy period (2009-14), seems to have taken off well with good number of enquires already flocking from both domestic as well as foreign companies.

Sources said the government delegation that went to Germany recently has managed to attract lot of investment queries from names like Seimens and Standard Chartered. “We have received about 20 queries already,” they said, adding several other firms have shown interest to participate in the global investors’ meet.

The State government’s special programme — “Prosperous Karnataka Beckons” to showcase Karnataka as an attractive investment destination has also paid-off, they added. If the business queries materialised, investors will mainly pump money into industrial estates proposed by the government among other projects.
