Naik, here as part of his farewell visit, however, stressed that the force’s acquisition and modification will not be mission-specific, but will be based on a wide range of specifications.
On the kind of choppers used by US Seals in Operation Geronimo in Pakistan, he said there was nothing new with the choppers as America already possessed it.

Suitable modifications

There were modifications made to suit a particular mission which even India is capable of and is in fact already doing for missions in Jammu and Kashmir area.

Although Naik said that India is modifying helicopters to meet mission-specific requirements, the customisation is not on par with the kind of sophisticated technology that the US exhibited.

He said as far as threat perceptions go, the IAF is completely capable of handling any situation in air and space.

The IAF is committed and prepared to thwart any nefarious designs and threats arising from the enemies.
