Within one-and-half months, we will get correct picture of how many families have ration cards in the State, the number of APL and BPL cards. Once we get all the details, all the fake ration cards and illegal gas connections will be cancelled.
Those who do not have ration cards will be given ration cards.
20 lakh bogus connections
She said as many as 20 lakh LPG connections are suspected to be bogus, since 50 lakh card holders with LPG connections out of 76 lakh with connections (based on records at gas agencies) have submitted their records.”
“There are 1.17 crore families in the State. However, ration cards have been issued to 1.76 crore families. If we give ration cards to all the families, even then we will require only 1.17 crore ration cards. During the verification, we have found that one family having 10 to 13 ration cards,” she added.
