JOIN USSpeaking at a meeting on endosulfan in Kasargod on Monday, he said a post of Deputy Collector will be created for the purpose. The work will be supervised by the Cabinet ministers in Thiruvananthapuram.
The demand for a tribunal to provide help to the endosulfan victims will be considered. The CM urged Kasargod District Collector to depute staff to help Deputy Collector.
The CM said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has promised to visit the endosulfan affected places in Kasargod. No discrimination will be made between APL and BPL families of the endosulfan victims. BPL cards will be issued to all the beneficiaries’ list okayed by the District Collector. All the endosulfan victims who do not have shelter will be provided with a house.
The ration will be provided free of cost to the victims, he said and added that the government will provide best treatment for the endosulfan victims at Calicut and Periya Medical Colleges. Schools have been opened for the children of endosulfan victims at Neeleshwar, Muliyarm Pallam, Karadka, Kayyur and Enmakaje.
