With the match almost 30 minutes old, RWF coach Muralidharan relegated out-of-sorts striker Satish to the midfield and pushed midfielder Prakash to join Naveen Babu up front.

The move at first seemed suicidal as Prakash had already made a huge impact in midfield with his pin-point passes and crosses.

RWF would have been easily 2-0 up had Lokesh, the left winger, converted two neat chanced that came his way. Lokesh volleyed against the post after receiving an aerial ball from Prakash from the right before failing to connect another descending pass from the medio.

Prakash didn’t make too much of an impact initially as a striker, but the RWF attacks had more sting than before. Then, in injury time of the first half, Prakash proved his coach right by putting RWF ahead with a right-footer from the top of the box that beat Dharmaraja goalkeeper Hariharan after Andrew put him through on the right.

Eleven minutes into the second half, Naveen made it 2-0 with Lokesh doing the spade work on the right. Prakash tapped in Andrew’s pass to complete his brace in the 63rd minute and put RWF on track for their first win in three matches. After the third goal, Prakash moved back to his normal position in midfield.

But three minutes later, taking advantage of a complacent RWF defence, Deepak lobbed home an aerial ball from Anup past RWF custodian Saravana as a consolation effort for Dharmaraja, who havee now lost all four matches.

Other result: ‘A’ Division: ADE: 1 (Murugan 9th) bt DYSH: 0.
