Arogya Vima project launched

The government will provide financial assistance of Rs 1.5 lakh and buffer amount of Rs 50,000 for medical expense of BPL card holders. It will also bear the premium up to Rs 300. Out of the allotted Rs 20 crore, a sum of Rs 16 crore has been released for the project, he disclosed.

The CM was speaking after launching the Suvarna Arogya Suraksha Vima scheme and laying foundation stone to building of District Armed Reserve Police training school at DAR grounds here on Friday.

Special session

The government has also decided to hold a 5-day special Assembly Session in the third week of September in order to discuss rural development and also to curb the irregularities in all the departments.

Former Union minister and BJP leader Sushma Swaraj said that her association with Bellary had turned sentimental over the past one decade. “The Arogya Surkasha project will benefit the poor and economically backward people. Karnataka has witnessed revolutionary changes due to efforts of ministers like B Sriramulu and Reddy brothers,”  she noted.

Referring to Health minister B Sriramulu as “108 minister”, Sushma expressed pleasure over the success of Arogya Kavacha scheme in the State. She distributed Suvarna Arogya Suvarna Vima project insurance card to the beneficiaries. Ministers Suresh Kumar , Home minister V S Acharya, Revenue minister G Karunakar Reddy, district in-charge minister G Janardha Reddy and RDPR minister Shobha Karandlage  were present.
