CII for state energy policy

Last Updated 23 June 2011, 15:58 IST

“Shortage of energy is a matter of concern, with it ranging between 10 and 12 per cent. Hence, we believe there is a need to have a state policy to make the State more energy secure,” said CII Karnataka State Council Chairman S Chandrasekhar.

Chandrasekhar further said that connectivity was important between the various regions of the state, besides developing tier-2 and tier-3 cities. He added that constructing airports in some smaller towns and cities would help in a large way. “The State must also develop better port facilities as they are very limited to provide for the State’s material needs,” Chandrashekhar added.
