A day to remember

Pretty impressed

Some were anxious, some nervous while many were excited about starting a new chapter in their life.

The first day of the new academic session had an inaugural programme wherein the guests and management wished good luck to the freshers.

Those, who had scored more than 90 per cent in PUC, were felicitated on the occasion. Students were made aware of the rules and regulations of the college as well as the facilities available.

Some freshers shared their first day experiences with Metrolife. Deepthi, a first year BBM student, found the inaugural function quite boring. “The programme was lengthy and many points were repetitive. Moreover, I was all alone without any friends,” she said.

She added that she was studying in a co-education institution for the first time. “Till PUC, I studied in girls’ school and college. Therefore, I was quite nervous about my first day and my dad dropped me to college. I need some more time to be at ease,” she smiled.

Archana, another student, was all praises for the college. “I did my PUC here itself and am impressed by the quality education they impart. The college has been accredited with ‘A’ Grade by NAAC. Another reason why I selected this college was because it was near my home. So I need not spend a lot of time travelling,” she said.

Sanjay, a first PUC student, seemed to be thrilled on the big day. “I had heard many interesting tales about college from my friends and cousins. So I was excited to experience college life. I heard that it is one of the oldest institutions in the City and gives the finest education. Hence, without any second thought, I joined this college. I was lucky enough to get good friends on the first day itself,” he said.

Bharath, another first PUC student, was happy with the timings of the college. “It starts at 7.30 in the morning and closes at 12.30 pm which is very convenient for us. We can make the best use of time and being in fresh mind, we can understand easily what lecturers teach,” he felt.

Shrinidhi, a BA student said, “I did my PUC here and I am impressed by the value-based education they impart here. Lecturers take personal care of each student. I was happy to meet my PUC friends who have also joined here,” she said.
