Brazil cruise to second win

Volleyball: World under-21 meet: France fight back to edge out Argentina in thrilling encounter

Spearheaded by a 13-point effort from Mauricio Silva, Brazil trounced Canada 25-21, 25-22, 25-13 in a one-sided contest. Cargnin Paese (8) and Tiago Wesz (7) contributed with important points in their win. Chief blocker Renan did well with five impotant blocks.

France, who faced little trouble blowing away Greece on Friday, played a tough contest against against Argentina to come on top 19-25, 25-23, 20-25, 25-23, 15-11.
Guillaume Quesque was the top scorer for the French team with 14 points while Frederic Barais and Julien Lyneel added twelve points apiece.

Argentina held an upperhand in smashes, blocks and aces. However, they made too many errors.

 Belgium, who lost to top-seeded Iran in their previoius encounter, pulled off a thumping 25-12, 32-20, 25-21 win over Egypt in Pool B.

Kevin Klinkenberg gave Belgium an edge in attack with 18 points from 34 smashes. Egypt's sudden aggression did rattle Belgium but the latter came on top with a disciplined performance.

Coming into the match after a convincing win over Belarus, United States posted a comfortable 21-25, 25-19, 25-15, 25-21 win over Tunisia.

In a late night match on Friday, Brazil edged 2007 runners-up Russia 30-28, 25-16, 23-25, 25-19).
