Last Updated 01 August 2009, 18:12 IST

Addresing a press meet, Virajpet Taluk Panchayat president Saritha Poonaccha said “action should be taken against the culprits based on the report submitted by the fact finding committee. Till then, hostel warden Balu should be transferred.”

She said that though the School warden Balu is facing several charges of corruption and lapses in performing his duties, both ZP President S N Rajarao as well as President of Standing Committee for Education Manu Muthappa are standing by him.

Zilla Panchayat CEO has given a statement that Balu has been transferred. However, contradictory to it, ITDP Officer Ghanti has given a statement that Balu will remain in the hostel till charges against him are proved. However, the same ITDP Officer had ordered for the transfer of the warden when TP President had visited the hostel. However, the same officer changed the order after ZP President visited the hostel, she said.

Poonaccha said “ZP member Anitha Kanjithanda who was making allegations against irregularities in the school, is now supporting Balu. I have right to demand for probe into the irregularities,” she added.

Shashidhar urged to constitute a committee to look into the work under taken by Nirmithi Kendra at cluster level. He said all the meetings of Standing committee on social justice must be recorded. “I am ready to go to jail to bring out the corruption,” he added.
