<p>The victim Girijamma (50) and her son Manju (25) residents of Madhugiri had come to the house of Roopa, Manju’s cousin at Kandavara village.<br /><br />On Friday, around 3.30 am Manju, on the pretext of offering a pooja, took his mother to an abandoned field. He allegedly slit her throat and threw the body near a tree, returned home to sleep. He was arrested in the morning when he was trying to flee.</p>
