There is no doubt about the array of reality shows on air, especially the talent hunts. The participants of these shows become stars overnight. And when they emerge winners of the show, there is no doubt that their life will change for the best. Two such people who triumphed two popular dance reality shows are Marischa, the winner of Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa 4 and Cornell, the first runner-up of the third season of ‘Dance India Dance Doubles’.

Having come a long way, these two talented dancers were in the City recently to conduct a dance workshop and spoke to Metrolife about their journey so far.

“Life has surely changed,” exclaims Marischa. “Now I am noticed more and a lot more people know me. So things have picked up soon,” she adds. Cornell, who hails from Mangalore, agrees. “When I left home to take part in the show, fame was extremely important to me. Now I am getting a lot of respect and a lot of shows. ‘DID Doubles’ provided a great platform for me,” he adds.

Ask them about their experiences with the big stars of the industry like Madhuri Dixit on Jhalak... and Mithun Chakraborty on ‘DID...’ and they say, “It’s the big stars who are really humble.” Admits Marischa, “But it is hard to keep up with the glamour world.”

Now the two are busy conducting workshops, attending to budding talent and grooming contestants on reality shows like ‘India’s Got Talent’. Ask them about the dance scene in Bangalore and they are all praises. “The scene in Bangalore is almost on a par with the one in Mumbai,” says Marischa. “The City has a mix of all kinds of dance, not just Bollywood or Kollywood or Tollywood dance but all of them and more, which is a really good thing,” she adds.

Having travelled to a lot of places, both these youngsters admit that they find a new crowd in every place. “Our recent experience in Mysore was really nice too. We got to interact with a lot of interesting people,” they reveal.

The two dances don’t hesitate to admit that they would love to act. “If we get a script that works for us, why not,” they ask. In their free time, the two dancers like doing a lot of things. “I like watching television and sleeping,” says Marischa. “I like watching movies and videos, especially dance videos,” Cornell signs off.
