Ice creams no challenge for kids

The competition, inaugurated by Superintendent of Police Dr A Subramanyeshwar Rao at Kadri Park here on Sunday evening presented a rare opportunity for kids as well as their parents to participate in a light-hearted competition. A total of 108 children participated in the competition- 39 in the Junior (5-8 age group) category and 69 (9-12) category. At the end, even some of the ladies and gentlemen got an opportunity to prove their talent in gulping icecream.

The most wonderful moment of the competition was when spoons proved irrelevant. Throughout the competition, many children chose to throw away the spoons and handle the icecreams with their bare hands, swallowing it in the biggest possible bites. At the end of the neck to neck competition, (i) Mayur Pai, (ii) Sumanth Shetty and (iii) Shan turned out the winners in the junior section while (i) Yajnesh, (ii) Sana and (iii) Raksha won the senior section.

Competition for ladies and gentlemen were snatched by Harini Vijayendra and Sharath respectively. Competitions were also held for JCI members and their kids.

President of Beary Academy Prof Abdul Rahman, actor Suresh Mangalore and senior JCI member Rangappa gave away the prizes to the winners.

JCI Mangalore President Dr Rahul, Secretary Dinesh, former presidents Vijay Vishnu Mayya, Manjunath D, National Vice President Anil Kumar, Dinky icecream Proprietor Swarnasundar and others were present on the occasion.
