Parties in AP welcome HC order on Jagan

Last Updated 11 August 2011, 06:11 IST

Jagan, however, alleged the case was an attempt to corner him.

"It is not correct to say that we intend to target him (Jagan). I strongly condemn his comments that there is a clandestine understanding between Congress and TDP. Truth would come out during the investigation," senior TDP leader K Yerran Naidu, who is a petitioner in the case before the HC, said.

Congress MP V Hanumantha Rao and state Health Minister D L Ravindra Reddy said Jagan should face the investigation so that he could prove his innocence.

"I feel he (Jagan) should not go to the Supreme Court to get this stopped. He should thank the High Court and face the investigation so that he can prove his innocence. You (Jagan) often talk about transparency, credibility and ethics. If we are to understand the meaning of those words, you should face the investigation and prove you are not guilty," Reddy said.

State BJP president G Kishan Reddy, CPI state secretary K Narayana, CPI (M) state secretary B V Raghavulu and TRS MLA T Harish Rao said the CBI probe should bring out the truth.

Earlier, responding to the court's order, Jagan claimed that the case was an attempt to target him. "When I left the party, I knew that I will have to face tough times. I was served Income Tax notices after I quit the party. Then, minister Shankar Rao was made to file this petition. TDP joined him. There is a clandestine understanding between Congress and TDP to corner me. However, I have faith in judiciary and God. I am sure justice would prevail," he said.
