Last Updated 18 August 2011, 11:32 IST

"The new Jazz with its attractive pricing will surely appeal to the customers and expand on the customer base of the Jazz," said Seki Inaba, director marketing, Honda Siel Cars India Ltd.

According to Inaba, the new model entails the company's efforts to source parts locally and to innovate new technologies.

"During the past couple of years, HSCI has focused a lot on localization and cost-down activities for our volume models through the research and development function in India," Inaba said.

The car is powered by a four-cylinder 1.2-liter i-VTEC engine which features programmed fuel injection that delivers maximum output of 90 ps at the rate of 6,200 rpm and torque of 110 Nm (11.2 kg-m) at the rate of 4800 rpm.

The car has a fuel economy of 16.7 km per litre.

The model comes with new components like front grille, front bumper, headlights with silver and black matt finish and new design 15-inch silver alloy wheels.

"The plush new beige black interior (in Jazz and Jazz Select) and new Amber coloured stereoscopic dials for superior visibility gives the car a richer feel.

The versatile interiors of the new Jazz come with the newly-introduced rear-reclining seats for ensuring super back seat comfort during long drives.

The car was introduced in the Indian market in 2009. The newly-launched model has three variants - Jazz S, Jazz Select and Jazz X, all in manual transmission.
