There was a rush of visitors after the show was declared open, around 4 pm. The teddy bears created out of red and pink flowers and a dinosaur created out of 50,000 flowers vowed children while young men were busy taking stealthy looks at the flowery mermaid scantily clad with flowers.

Nearly 800 participants have taken part in this year’s event. Fifty exotic species are on the display.

‘Thai Arts’ made their debut for the first time in a flower show in Bangalore. Experts created aeroplanes made from banana leaves. A miniature replica of the Glass House attracted much attention.

Security staff had a tough time preventing visitors from taking some mementos of their visit to the spot.

Many, including visitors from abroad, were spotted posing for pictures with the flowers serving as
backdrop.

A few men equipped with digital cameras and printers that could give on-the-spot print out of pictures were noticed raking in money.
