Off to a great start

New beginning

The post graduation and research programmes were recently inaugurated at CMR University.

 As many as 47 students have enrolled in various post graduate courses like MSW, MSc Psychology and MCom and 48 in the research programmes at the University.  Speaking after inaugurating the programme, Ravi Kumar, professor of Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management, Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore(IIMB), focused on the importance of abilities of learning. “Ability to learn is a process and compatibility is the unique ability to interact with people irrespective of the differences. Adaptability is also an important criteria which has to be inculcated among the students,” said Ravi.

  The IIMB professor also urged the research students to detach from the traditional learning methods and embrace newer methods of learning. Ravi said, “Research scholars must have the right kind of exposure and put in the required efforts to complete their designated topics or thesis. Endurance during the research work and preparation is an important aspect for scholars.” The students seemed all set for a new beginning and the many challenges it holds. Pankaj Das, student, MSc Psychology felt CMR University is one of the best in the City. He felt the programmes it offered were one-of-a-kind. Vinay, a Phd scholar said, “The search for a good university has ended with the my enrolment in CMR University. Owing to the reputation and the strong faculty, I chose this University.” 

There were a few other students who were not only happy with their choice of the course and the University but said that they were overwhelmed by the warm reception. Ashwitha M, first year student of CMR University said, “We got off to great beginning with the fresher’s party where we were treated to different kinds of dance, songs, DJ sessions, collage competitions and beat boxing. It was a great day of excitement."

 James Lalmalsawm, student of CMR University said, “Every student was given an opportunity to all the students to showcase their talents. The most important thing about the fresher's party was that we got a chance to interact with everybody. It also doubled up as a good ice-breaking session.”
