Religious fervour marks Id-ul-fitr

Sir Khazi calls it god almightys wish to forge bond with different communities

Sir Khazi of Mysore Hazrath Moulana Mohammed Usman Shariff who conducted the prayers at the eidgah ground at Tilak Nagar, gave a call to practice brotherhood. 

Saying that Ramzan coincides with gowri festival, sir khazi said it (festivals falling together) may be the attempt of god to unite us and let’s honour it.  One should encourage communal harmony by inviting people belonging to other community too for the festival and also attend their’s. 

Explaining about the significance of Ramzan, sir khazi said ‘all the good deeds and the prayer offered to god almighty complying with the strict regimen should not be restricted to the particular month alone. Instead, it should be implied for all the 12 months in a year.

Help the poor
It’s during the period of fasting, one does help poor within the community with zakath and fitra (donation) by earmarking a sum of the earnings for the latter’s benefit. Soon after the festival, everything takes a backseat.

Medical education and district in-charge minister S A Ramdas, accompanied by deputy commissioner P S Vastrad, police commissioner Sunil Agarwal, former mayors Vasu and P Vishwanath participated.

Prayers were also offered at the eidgah ground at Bharath Nagar and Ghousianagar. Prominent among those who offered prayer at Tilak Nagar ground were former vice-chancellor of Goa and Managlore universities B Sheikh Ali, vice- principal of Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE) Syed Shakib-Ur-Rehman, high court judge Mustaffa Hussain, director of Muslim Cooperative Bank Fayaz Pasha, honorary secretary Farooquia Educational Institution Taj Mohammed Khan and honorary secretary, Farooquia PU College Dr M Syed Ahmed.

DCP (law and order) Basavaraj Malagathi, ACP (N R sub-division) A K Suresh supervised the police bandobust outside the ground here.
