Close to two weeks after the Railway Board sought additional documents on the deviation in the schedule of dimensions, the CRS has also sought additional documents.

CRS Deepak Kumar Singh  met the officers from BMRCL on Tuesday, a development that takes commissioning of the Reach-1 of the project, closer to the final hurdle.

While Singh was satisfied with the documents he has scrutinised before his visit to Bangalore, he sought details on the Independent Safety Assessor Certificate, which will vet the signalling and the safety aspect. This, additional to the RDSO certification, is mandatory for the BMRCL to get the final certification.

The inspection of the project between Byyappanahalli and MG Road, will see Singh and his team inspect every aspect on the stretch. From the track structure to the signalling work, to the stations, to other amenities, the team will inspect everything for about three days.

Following this, it will prepare a report based on the findings and finally grant BMRCL the certification, provided, it finds everything complying with the required norms.

According to well-placed sources, there were no discussions on the schedule of dimensions, in Tuesday’s meeting.

The BMRCL is supposed to invite the CRS, only after it obtained the sanction for opening of lines from the Railway Board, which had asked for the aforementioned clarification. There has been no statement about the Board having granted that sanction, even as the CRS’ inspection is beginning on Wednesday.
