Addressing media persons on the occasion, Rajaram, whose term as Karnataka Nataka Academy chairperson comes to an end in October said he has aspirations to take Rangayana to different heights now. “I have been associated with Ranganaya since the day it was set up and I have watched it grow. Whether Nataka Academy, or Rangayana, the work always revolves around theatre and stage,” he said.

Reiterating the fact that the state-sponsored theatre repertoire is known for its excellent productions and the most vibrant atmosphere for theatre to assume newer directions, Rajaram said Rangayana will stage plays as planned for Dasara. “Work at Rangayana doesn’t stop. Even before my appointment, work was in progress. Now, only the shoulders which bear the burden, will change with me assuming charge. Rest is the same,” he said.
