And even before the first show, the director has already hit a chord with the young
generation.

Starring Diganth, Samyukta Hornad and Sindhu Loknath, the movie talks a lot about relationships in different stages of life. Talking to Metrolife, Pawan says that he made this film targetting the youth. After all, the title itself, ‘Lifeu Ishtene’, represents the generation that takes life very lightly with ‘go with the flow’ attitude.

“This particular mindset has its advantages and disadvantages as well. The advantage being that today’s generation takes everything with a pinch of salt and moves on to better things in life without any hang ups. But at the same time, this also means that they never tend to commit to anything,” says Pawan, who adds that the film talks about all of this and more.

Having worked under Yograj Bhat during Manasare and Pancharangi, Pawan says that he has learnt a lot from the director. But he also insists that he has his own vision when it comes to his film. “Yograj Bhat plays a lot with words but I am more of a visual artiste. I like to narrate my story with strong visuals,” says the former theatre artiste.

While releasing the music of the film, the director had announced that he will be inviting the audience to write the lyrics of one song. Ever since he made that announcement, the team was flooded with letters. “We got more than 600 lyrics. Many of them were good and a majority were highly influenced by Yograj Bhat’s style of writing. We finally did pick one written by Naveen and the song will be heard on the day of the release,” he says.

As for the Censor Board insisting on removing the words ‘sucker’ from the tagline ‘Move on sucker’, Pawan says that he is upset about that decision but he prefers to “move on” from the issue. “There is a lot of thought that goes into the making of a film and there are a lot of technical issues that crop up by removing these two words. Moreover, these are words that the youngsters use on an everyday basis. Right now, I would like to concentrate on the release of the film and I just hope for the best,” he signs off.
