Vatiganahalli and Indravalli SC colony lacks pure drinking water, transport facility, title deeds, toilets, anganwadi centre and school. However, the colony is known for its increase in illicit liquor business.

Vatiganahalli and Indravalli SC colony come under Baskal Gram Panchayat limits in Vasthare hobli and Mudigere Kasaba hobli. The colony has 37 houses with a population of 300. Majority of the residents are daily wage labourers. Most of the residents reside in hut like structure which is covered by sheets, plastic covers to protect one from rain and harsh wind. The residents do not have title deeds as well. As many as six houses in Vatiganahalli have toilets.

The Vatiganahalli colony residents have electricity connection. However, inspite of electric lines passing above their houses, the Dalits of Indravalli do not have electricity connection. A water tank was constructed at Indravalli colony for supplying drinking water to the residents. However, water is still a dream for these residents. As a result, the colony residents were forced to fetch water from distant place.

The colony has a lower primary school. However, more than 50 children are denied of education owing to the deplorable condition of the school. The school building collapsed two years ago. As a result, the children are forced to sit in a tiny room for their classes. As a quarry is situated next to the school, the children are not allowed to play. Though land was identified for constructing a school at Indravalli colony, owing to the lack of interest shown by the elected representatives, school building has become a distant dream. As school kids have to travel to Baskal to attend the school, the number of children who attend school has declined. The villagers have been demanding an anganwadi centre for the last one decade.

The colony residents are also suffering from illicit liquor menace which is on rise in the colony.

Inspite of the illicit liquor units thriving in the colony, the police have failed in initiate action against the culprits. With the lack of transport facility, the residents and the students are finding it difficult to reach Aldoor, Baskal.
