Quarrying, keeps many awake in Arsikere

Blasting rocks goes on daily from 6 am to 2 am

Residents are spending sleepless nights as the process of blasting rocks using explosives goes on from 6 am to 2 am every day. The blast can also be heard in Malleshwara Nagar, Subramanya Nagar, Kalana Koppal and Jenukal Nagar.

Residents say that despite filing several complaints with officials concerned, they are yet to take stringent measures.

The Male Malleshwara Temple located at Malleshwara Layout has also been affected by the constant blasts. The continuous explosions are causing problems for devotees and vehicle traffic heading towards the temple.

A few instances of people being injured due to shrapnel has also occurred.
