Govt to look into Patil's assets: CM

Addressing mediapersons during his maiden visit here after taking charge as the chief minister, Gowda said he had asked his principal secretary to get all the facts pertaining to the controversy.

When asked if the  State government was expecting the highest probity, honesty and integrity from the person holding the post of Lokayukta, the chief minister replied in the positive.

The allegation against Justice Patil is that he had obtained two sites - one in his name and the other on his wife’s name - even though he already had a site in his own name in Bangalore, by allegedly circumventing the bylaws of house building cooperative societies. It has also been said that Justice Patil is prepared to surrender the site alloted to his wife.
